What is FTE?
Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) is a standardized unit for measuring an employee’s workload relative to a full-time schedule. An FTE of 1.0 corresponds to one full-time worker (e.g. 40 hours per week), whereas an FTE of 0.5 indicates a half-time workload. This metric allows part-time, full-time, and flexible-hour staff to be compared on equal footing by converting their hours into a single scale.
